It’s so irritating, being a writer as oppose to a painter, or a musician or even a fashion designer. You bare your soul and let these thoughts and feelings come from inside you but they all look the same at a glance. Just words strewn across a paper. It could be amazing, or it could be shit. But, nobody can tell until they thoroughly read and comprehend. But, with other things, just by glancing at them you get a sense of what they are and what they mean to the person that made them. I think that’s why people look down upon english majors and people who love writing. They think everything has been discovered, and is known. But it isn’t. There’s just as much unknown about science as there is in writing. With discoveries about anything there is more to write about and explain and describe. There are only 26 letters in the alphabet, but they make up so many words, experiences, stories, descriptions etc. It’s everything. Nobody can just look at words in a book and tell what it is or why it is significant. That might be irritating, but the best part is reading, understanding and discovering what those words entail.
-my view on writing and why i love it/think it’s important.
